Energy Star

After the home has been engineered and approved for appropriate heating and cooling specifications, it then goes through a three step inspection process by a certified HERS rater. Upon successfully meeting this high criteria a home is labeled for life. Then proper insulation, windows, HVAC requirements, caulking, and sealing are all components of meeting stringent specifications. I have personally witnessed great benefits and extreme satisfaction from my customers. To date, we have constructed and approved nearly 30 energy star homes.

Benefits of an Energy Star home:

  1. Energy savings every month. A 1,500 ft. home total electric home will cost $75-$125 per month. We have had a customer that lives in a 1,600 ft. home have a $48 electric bill in the month of November!
  2. Less than 3% air duct leakage. This means that 97% of your air will get to its desired location. The average home is 28% - 32% air duct leakage, in other words, only 72% of your air is reaching its desired location. Which causes your unit to run longer and your bill to be higher!
  3. Consistent temperatures throughout the house.
  4. Tax credit opportunities.
